Crepe is the matte lining — it does not catch light the way velvet does, which is why it reads as gentler. Twenty-gauge steel, non-sealed. Non-sealed is a choice rather than a compromise: some families prefer it, and some cemeteries and green burial grounds require it. Square corners, silver swingbar handles, half couch, adjustable bed. It fits a standard burial vault and is rated to 500 pounds. At $1,195 it is one of the least expensive caskets we carry.

Why is this one non-sealed, and does that matter?
Non-sealed means there is no rubber gasket clamping the lid to the shell. It matters in two ways: some cemeteries and green burial grounds require non-sealed, and a sealed casket costs more. No casket, sealed or not, preserves remains indefinitely — anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something.
