We can have it made with no metal fasteners at all if you ask, which matters for a Jewish burial and for green burial grounds that require it. There is no lining, no lacquer and no hardware beyond fixed wooden grips. Made in the USA. It is the plainest thing we sell and, at $995, the least expensive. Some families choose it for cost and some choose it because anything more feels wrong for the person; both are good reasons.

Can it be made with no metal at all?
Yes. As standard it is built with wooden screws, and we can have it made with no metal fasteners on request — which matters for a Jewish burial and for green burial grounds that require it. Ask when you order; it is not a special-order surcharge.
Will a cemetery accept an unfinished pine casket?
Conventional cemeteries generally will, though many require a vault or grave liner regardless of the casket. Green and conservation burial grounds usually require exactly this kind of casket. Check with the cemetery, because the vault requirement is theirs, not ours.
Is there a lining?
No. It is unfinished inside and out — no lining, no lacquer, no hardware beyond fixed wooden grips. If you want bedding in it, tell us and we will talk you through the options.

Yes. We call the funeral home ourselves, agree a delivery window that suits them and confirm it back to you. You do not have to arrange anything between us.
