It carries the LifeSymbols interchangeable corner design, so the four corner medallions can be changed to something that meant something to the person. Also a MemorySafe drawer for keepsakes and private notes during the visitation, a memorial record tube, a FailSafe liner and a safety bottom, on swing bar hardware. Half couch, rated to 500 pounds, covered by Batesville's pre-interment warranty. At $6,495 it is the most expensive wood casket we carry. Cherry darkens with age, and hand-rubbed gloss is what you are paying for over a sprayed finish.

Is this solid cherry or a cherry veneer?
Solid cherry throughout, not a veneer over composite board. That is unusual at any price and it is a large part of what you are paying for.
What does hand-rubbed high gloss mean?
The finish is built up and polished by hand rather than sprayed and cured. It gives a deeper, more even shine that shows the grain rather than sitting on top of it — visible in person more than in a photograph.
Will the cherry darken?
Cherry darkens with light and age. In the ground it will not, but the sample you see at the funeral home may look lighter or darker than a photograph taken at a different time.
What is this casket made of?
The Batesville Embassy Cherry is made of solid cherry. The exterior carries a high gloss finish.
Can we buy a casket here and use our own funeral home?
Yes. The FTC Funeral Rule requires a funeral home to accept a casket you bought elsewhere, and they may not charge you a handling fee for it.
How fast can the casket arrive?
