Product Details
Solid copper, not a copper-toned finish over steel — the distinction matters, and it is most of the price. Copper does not rust; it weathers to a darker patina instead. This one is left with a natural brushing rather than polished flat. Almond velvet inside over an adjustable bed with adjustable foot ends. Urn corner posts, copper swingbar handles, a locking lid, and a memorial record tube that stays with the casket. Half couch. At $3,995 it is one of the most expensive caskets in our range, and one of only a handful made of solid copper rather than finished to look like it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this actually solid copper, or copper-colored steel?
Solid copper. The metal is copper all the way through, not a finish over steel. That is the difference between this and a casket described as having a copper tone or copper finish, and it is most of the price difference too.
Will the copper tarnish?
Copper darkens over time into a patina rather than rusting. That is what copper does, and it is not corrosion — the metal underneath is unaffected. Families who want a metal that keeps its original color choose stainless steel instead.
What is this casket made of?
The Solid Aegean Copper is made of copper.
Is this a full couch or half couch casket?
Half couch. Only the upper half of the lid opens, which is the arrangement most families see at a viewing.
What are the dimensions?
The casket measures 83" long, 28 1/8" wide and 23 1/8" high on the outside. The interior is 76" long and 23 1/2" wide.
Can we buy a casket here and use our own funeral home?
Yes. The FTC Funeral Rule requires a funeral home to accept a casket you bought elsewhere, and they may not charge you a handling fee for it.

The Discount Caskets Promise

Buying direct should be simple, and the price you are quoted should be the price you pay. This is what we hold ourselves to.

Specified in full, so you can compare

Gauge, finish, interior fabric and hardware are listed on every casket — 20-gauge and 18-gauge steel, solid hardwood, stainless and solid copper — so you can weigh one model against another instead of guessing.

A delivery date worked out per casket

Each product page calculates its own arrival date from the order cutoff and that casket's real lead time, and shipping is a flat rate agreed up front rather than a number that moves at checkout.

Federal law is on your side

The FTC's Funeral Rule requires a funeral home to accept a casket you bought elsewhere, and bars it from charging you a fee to handle it. Tell them it is coming — that is all that is required.

Warehouse prices, starting at $995

You are buying from the warehouse rather than a showroom floor, which is where the traditional markup sits. Nothing is added afterwards for commission or for making the arrangements.
