Poplar is a close-grained hardwood that takes a finish evenly, and this one is left quiet — no high gloss, no heavy ornament. It is built entirely of wood, which is what makes it suitable for a Jewish burial where metal is not permitted. Square casket corners, swingbar handles, half couch. It fits a standard burial vault.
