Product Details
Stainless steel with a brushed natural platinum finish, and the American flag worked into the lid and corner detail. White velvet inside over an adjustable bed. Stainless is the most corrosion-resistant shell we sell — it does not rust, and unlike copper it holds its color rather than developing a patina. Square casket corners, silver swingbar handles, half couch. It fits a standard burial vault and is rated to 500 pounds. At $5,495 it is the top of our range, and it is chosen almost entirely for military funerals where the family wants the flag detail and the shell to last.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we have a military funeral with this casket?
Yes. It is made for one — the flag is draped over the closed lower half and folded at the graveside. Contact the Department of Veterans Affairs or the funeral home about military funeral honors, which are provided at no cost for eligible veterans and include the flag and the folding detail.
Do we have to buy the casket from the funeral home for a veterans cemetery burial?
No. National and state veterans cemeteries accept a casket you bought anywhere, and the FTC Funeral Rule stops any funeral home charging you a handling fee for it. Burial in a national cemetery itself is at no cost for eligible veterans.
What is this casket made of?
The The Veteran Stainless Steel is made of stainless steel.
Is this a full couch or half couch casket?
Half couch. Only the upper half of the lid opens, which is the arrangement most families see at a viewing.
What are the dimensions?
The casket measures 81" long, 28" wide and 23 1/2" high on the outside. The interior is 79" long and 23" wide.
What weight will it hold?
It is rated to 500 pounds. The casket itself weighs about 200 pounds.
Will it fit a standard burial vault?
Yes. It fits a standard burial vault. If your cemetery requires a particular vault, check the model with them before ordering.
Can we buy a casket here and use our own funeral home?
Yes. The FTC Funeral Rule requires a funeral home to accept a casket you bought elsewhere, and they may not charge you a handling fee for it.

The Discount Caskets Promise

Buying direct should be simple, and the price you are quoted should be the price you pay. This is what we hold ourselves to.

Specified in full, so you can compare

Gauge, finish, interior fabric and hardware are listed on every casket — 20-gauge and 18-gauge steel, solid hardwood, stainless and solid copper — so you can weigh one model against another instead of guessing.

A delivery date worked out per casket

Each product page calculates its own arrival date from the order cutoff and that casket's real lead time, and shipping is a flat rate agreed up front rather than a number that moves at checkout.

Federal law is on your side

The FTC's Funeral Rule requires a funeral home to accept a casket you bought elsewhere, and bars it from charging you a fee to handle it. Tell them it is coming — that is all that is required.
